Objective: to help to conduct survey of any type of land using chain,compass. cross staff. Plane table. level, theodolite and other survey instruments.

Requirement of trained surveyor in the survey departments of state and union services are filled by first by those who have completed one years surveyor course under craftsman training scheme. The training scheme is designed in such a way that trainees get exposed to different types of survey techniques such as theodolite survey, chain survey, plane table survey etc..
